Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe comes from my sister-in-law Jaime. I made them for some sisters in the ward & they turned out really very good. 1 c. butter flavored shortening 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 large eggs 1 t. salt 1 t. soda 1 t. vanilla 1 t. hot water 2 1/2 c. flour chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350. Mix together shortening, sugars, and eggs. Add flour, soda, salt, water, and vanilla. Mix. Add desired amount of chocolate chips. Scoop onto a cookie sheet and flatten slightly before putting in oven. Bake for 10 - 12 min. or until the edges are golden brown and top of cookies do not sink when touched. (Don't over bake. If they are just barely golden, they will be wonderfully soft. :)
